And in other news, another Kodak related situation:

'American Society of Media Photographers severs ties with Eastman Kodak'
was the cover of my latest ASMP Bulletin. This situation looks ugly folks.
There is a letter from ASMP President Les Riess and a reply from George
M.C. Fisher, CEO of Eastman Kodak Company on the ASMP web site at:

http://www.asmp.org

Even though I use Fuji products almost exclusively, I hope they work it
out.
Kodak is accused of inappropriately soliciting work from advertising
agencies and design firms in New York who handled Kodak projects. The
solicitations were done in a way that is damaging to professional
photographers by suggesting that 'using Kodak photographers would eliminate
the need to negotiate for usage rights'. Additionally, Kodak's subsidiary
Qualex is accused of leading the opposition of photofinishers against the
efforts of ASMP and PPofA (Professional Photographers of America) to obtain
fair treatment under regulations supporting copyright law, by creating
Congressional interference with the Copyright Office process during the
June 1996 hearings. Kodak claims that 'it did not know what its subsidiary
was doing'...

Being an ASMP general member, this should probably be the extent of my
comments on the situation.
