OK...OK..I'll bite !! I really like the vertical shot of the BNSF Pumpkins on the stack train (Not a grain train as the caption says) in Glacier Park. The low clouds hanging in the valley in the background are spectacular ! This is a good example of how poor weather can still produce high quality photos. Of course, the orange engines helped a lot too. The same shot with a pair of SP tunnel motors would not have nearly the impact. Another item related to composition: I (and I would guess that I am not alone) dislike photos where the train is cut off by the edge of the frame. Instead, I feel that the train should disappear naturally within the photograph. This might sound like a fundamental rule, but I noticed many examples on the SPORRS page where this rule is broken (possibly even some of mine :-) ) Robert Palmer -> SPORRS: 'Serious Photographers Of Railroad Related Subjects' -> Web Site: http://www.anet-stl.com/acphotog/sporrs/ -> Message © 1998 SPORRS® - All Rights Reserved
