To those who have seen the newest issue of TRAINS with the photo contest winners...any thoughts ?? Of course, congrats. go out to Charlie Dischinger for third prize with another great shot in weather that would have kept most of us in the lounge at the Isaack Walton. I liked the grand prize shot - the back lighting really was a plus. I think that perfect 3/4 nose lighting would have made the shot less dramatic.
The second place shot with the Chinese steamers was nice too, but it was too bad that the smoke obscured the snow covered mountains in the background. With the exception of Charlie's shot, nothing else really stood out for me, with the exception of the heavily polarized Amtrak shot. It seemed much too dark (especially the sky) Robert Palmer Pottstown, PA -> SPORRS: 'Serious Photographers Of Railroad Related Subjects' -> Web Site: http://www.anet-stl.com/acphotog/sporrs/ -> Message © 1998 SPORRS® - All Rights Reserved
