Last Friday I dropped off four rolls of PKL (Kodachrome 200) with
prepaide processing stickers, at A&I, Hollywood. As most of you know,
A&I's Kodachrome operation has been temporarily shut down while they
convert to the new Kodachrome K-Lab processing machines.

During this shutdown, several rolls of Kodachrome sent to A&I have come
back processed at BWC Color, Miami; quality looked good and mounts were
excellent, plain mounts rather than A&I.

Yesterday my K-200 came back, shipped from A&I, processed by Kodak, in
Kodak boxes! Everything looked good and the Kodak mounts were marked
"SF."

I dropped off 14 rolls of PKR (K-64) on Wednesday; it will be
interesting to see where they get processed, how they get mounted and
how long it takes!

A handout sheet received last week from A&I read as follows:

"Attention all Kodachrome shooters! We are happy to announce the arrival
of our newest K-Lab machine. After having some technical difficulties
with our first machine, we are eagerly anticipating great results with
this new one. We would like to thank Eastman Kodak for their efforts in
addressing our problems associated with the initial installation of the
K-Lab machine and client-related K-Lab difficulties. Kodak has been
great in assisting us in getting the new machine in quickly as well as
helping with the installation. With Kodak's support, we look forward to
satisfying our professional Kodachrome image makers for many years."

The A&I people on Wednesday guessed another week or two before
Kodachrome processing is "in-house" once again.

BTW, I have been ordering the A&I prepaid processing stickers @$4.99,
from M&M Photo in New York, good for Kodachrome and E-6 processing.
There is no minimum order and they send them via next-day FedEx.
