On June 1st, 1990 I took a roll of K25 to my local camera store for Processing
at a Kodak lab. Nothing special, just one of the Santa Fe FP45's in their
four digit numbers (they were in those numbers two weeks) and it never came
back. The good old Post Office lost another one in 92 (when they were using
bulk mail). Once again nothing special, just the Erie Mining F's. So you
see, unlees you do your processing anything can happen. Use Fairlawn or A&I
and mail them. I have used UPS to ship slides to Fairlawn, but they come back
by mail anyway.

I have been taking my Kodachrome to a local photo store for years and it
always went to Dallas. Used to be a one day turn around, then changed to 3-4
days, but still went to Dallas. I just got a roll back which took 11 days!!
This is the new norm according to the store! However this roll was not
processed in Dallas, the slides have an "N" marked on them! Can anyone tell
me what processing plant this is?? What is their quality of work?? This roll
seems to have come out OK, but it
is the first I have from this plant. I have always been a little afraid of
mailers
because I just don't trust the U.S. Postal Service, but if my film goes
wherever
Kodak decides to send it and it takes this much time I might change my
habits!!
If anyone has opinions about the "N" plant and mailers in general, I would
appreciate their thoughts! Since I have never used mailers, I would like to
know what is the best plant to send them to. I am afraid this is just another
sign that
Kodachrome's days are numbered!! Many thanks to all for any help and guidance
you can provide!!
