I do most of my photographic "dusting" with an air blower first, (a
photo-type, not an ear syringe) and if there is still some dust left over
I use a 1" camel-hair brush. 

Now, for the car enthusiasts --

The softest thing for dusting plastic is one of those "electro-dusters"
or "magic dusters" you see advertised on TV or at discount stores. The
whole set, which includes three or four dusters in various sizes, goes
for about $8.95. Give the bigger ones to your wife or mother, you only
need the tiny one. Shake it up a bit and it develops a slight electrical
charge. Dust sticks to it; you hardly even have to touch the object you
are cleaning. When you're done just shake it out. (The smallest one is
also great for photo equipment.)
