that I usually shoot with only one. And yeah, I've lost a few along the
way, but mostly due to operator error. Have had one or another fail on me
once in a while, it surely is somewhat comforting to know you can just pick
up the other and get on with it.

Last December my two week trip to Wyoming would have been ruined without a
second camera body, but here is something more important: When I got to
Cheyenne, I had two rolls from one camera and one from another processed.
I discovered that the F4 that I brought with me was scratching the film. I
won't get into the details here (they are on my web site - parts of that
page used to be the SPORRS Pixel Page)
http://www.anet-stl.com/acphotog/pixel/index.html , but had I not
discovered this then, I would have brought home several more rolls of
scratched and ruined film because I would have kept shooting with the bad
camera for another week and a half. I did fix the shots digitally (see
link above for how - the shot I use as an example was one of the first
frames I shot on that roll before I left for Wyoming), but the film is
still ruined. I'm glad I minimized the loss. BTW, Rainbow Photo in
Cheyenne, WY has always given me good E-6 results with Fuji products. If
I'm going to be out of town for a week or two shooting irreplaceable shots,
I always have a test roll or two processed locally to make sure I am not
having equipment problems, plus it's great to see some images while you are
still there so you can shoot again if you don't like what you got the first
time
