My problem is that I bought a Nikon 8008S to replace an F3 destroyed by a
blow-over is far west Texas (another story entirely). By the time I got
enough confidence in the 8008S they had stopped making the things. I like
the meter but otherwise use it on manual. I agree absolutely with the need
for a second camera for back-up if nothing else. The ever frugal J. Parker
Lamb bought a 6006 and is very pleased with it but he has a completly
accurate meter between his ears. I think I may do that since it is at least
similar to the layout of the 8008S. After a few bad expereiences from
reputable dealers I no longer consider purchasing used bodies, cameras that
is.

Thanks for the comments.
