Exercise Physiologist & Performance Scientist
Salary: circa £31,000 Based in Stirling (sportscotland institute of sport) sportscotland is currently experiencing an exciting period in the lead up to the 2012 Olympics & the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, and is looking for an Exercise Physiologist and a Performance Scientist to join the organisation. The Performance Scientist will primarily work closely with and support the coaches and swimmers based at the Stirling Intensive Training Centre. The Exercise Physiologist will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team providing world class physiology support. Both will contribute to the national delivery and network management of sport science services within the institute network. In addition, they will be responsible for Exercise Physiology support and delivery to identified and prioritised sports and athletes at institute level. Both candidates must have a flexible approach to work and a positive attitude to support a team of high performance experts working with elite Scottish Athletes. They will have experience providing exercise physiology support within a high performance athlete environment, as well as a verifiable record of working within a multi-disciplinary team. In addition they will ideally have gained BASES High Performance Sport Accreditation or be working towards it. They will also be able to demonstrate understanding of other applied disciplines within sport science. sportscotland is an equitable employer and operates a child protection policy.
