Hello to the community, I definitely think things shouldn't be rushed, so if SpreadUbuntu will be up and running smoothly by the end of september, I think that's great news. Some of the translations in dutch I did through Launchpad are not showing. I heard that has something to do with being at Drupal 5.
Now I haven't been active for that long in the community, but I am determined to stay active for a long time, and hopefully get the member status in a while. I've been working long hours lately designing some materials and translating. I am worried about a couple of things though; First of all the fact that I see some crap sneaking in. I have even seen "translated content" that has not been translated at all, but is marked as translated content. So please people, if you are translating that's great, but at least finish the page. Secondly, I agree that there is a lot of expectations to SpreadUbuntu, because I think it makes a good base for Marketing materials, and I think LoCo Teams around the world should bundle efforts. It's better to have some marketing materials that are great, than have thousands of crappy ones. There are just too many materials around which are shouting out the same message, just because there is no structure at all. Thirdly; Now don't get me wrong, people are doing some great work, but some just try to do their own thing and ignore the rest. Small bunches of friends start 'owning' Loco Teams and that worries me. That is one reason why I post to spreadubuntu and send a link to the LoCo. Not all Locos have a marketing section. At some LoCo teams, I have got the feeling there is a big sign on the door which says "no access for serious and active newcomers, we're just doing our own thing here". And that's why I think SpreadUbuntu will be great in the future. We have to be careful though, SpreadUbuntu will be the biggest source for anyone trying to spread Ubuntu. And I do mean anyone, so it will have to be very well structured. Anyone with some thoughts on this?
