I am just finishing up one of those. I had to supply them with PE stamped drawings and coordinate it with their manufacturing process. What they shipped (18 sections for 9 apartments) was some 1" CPVC thrown into the truss space and and "supported" with strapping tape stapled to the truss. Then the whole mess was covered with sheetrock with a couple of holes. Not even close. What we did was ask for the plans the factory installed to and then get a rep out there to verify that it is no good. The factory is now paying to have a new system installed with CPVC pipe and Decosheild. I started the project in Dec 2005 and installation is going to start in the next week or two.

Welllllll this afternoon I loooked at a "pre-built" duplex shipped in on 12 trailers to make a 2-unit 3 story building..... ALL piped in "WIRSBO-PEX-a Tubing"... MAX Pressure of 160PSI @ 73.4 Degrees F. All piping is 1" size. NOT like in the hydraulic calcs. the manufacturer supplied. Now to convince the owner the finished walls and ceilings have to be ripped apart to install a Sprinkler system since the AHJ is going to require one.
