Same issue came up on a 'super' store we recently finished. The engineer's
detail that showed the hangers located within 6" of panel points had a note
on it saying it applied to all 4" to 8" hangers. The owner's inspector
said the branchline hangers needed to be installed within 6" of panel
points also. We simply replied "No problem, here's what it's going to cost
you". We haven't heard back from them.

Look over the engineer's detail. If it says it applies to 4" to 8" pipe,
you should be OK with your branchlines.
