Todd:

Look at the handbook; it specifically mentions hanging from sprinklers is
prohibited.

Subject: hanging from sprinklers

They are starting early this week........

An Architect wants to support a fabric ceiling from the cup of
concealed sprinklers. Section 9.1.1.7 of The Book warns against this,
but their argument is that it only mentions piping and hangers and
not sprinklers. They are about to take this to the local AHJ. I would
think that most AHJs would send them packing, but I don't know this
guy and this is for a chapel at a well-known regional Catholic
university, which could have some influence. Anybody run into this
before? Any ideas besides this section for my defence? Any ideas on
protecting spaces with tensioned fabric ceilings?
