The 2007 edition has a new paragraph 9.3.5.1.2 stating: "The structural components to which bracing is attached shall be determined to be capable of resisting the applied seismic loads"
Who introduced this requirement and how will it be implemented? Shouldn't this have been introduced into the IBC process instead? Will this mean sprinkler contractors will have to hire structural consultants? It seems this would be something that should be part of the shop drawing package.
