You have a very big and ugly pet.
It's the A/E's team responsibility for designing a building capable
of carrying the load of the systems BUT it seems unreasonable to
assume you can hang an 8 inch main on a single structural member.
How many of you:
A. Ask as part of the bid (or soon thereafter) what is the maximum
single point loads and if there are any restrictions (such as within
x inches of the panel points)?
B. Submit plans to the A/E for approval on the structural (and
whether that is combined with question A since without it one can be
delayed by repeating the design)?
C. Something else (and state what that is - ignoring the issue is
one such option)
