finished a sprinkler system design. it was close to the 10% buffer, so the AHJ said, "what if the fire department draws down too much water from the hydrants and we don´t have enough pressure?"
I say, "does that mean you want a fire pump?" He says, "yes, I would prefer one." I say, "i was not a good firefighter, but I do remember our engineers were pretty keen on making the connections, are you saying that the first due engine doesn't make the connections?" He says, "yes, that happens about 20% of the time. They arrive at a building, and don't know if there are connections there or not." I think, "this IS a problem," "...but not mine." should we put signs up outside of all buildings with FDC's or is this something the engineer/driver should know, or something the officer in the bucket should tell him? scot deal excelsior fire _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
