here, it is performance based. all, and i do mean nearly ALL, the liability goes onto the designer / FPE.
there is not the litigious culture to keep (what i consider) bad design in check. nor is there enough fire (strange as that sounds) to keep what-I-consider to be a sufficient amount of common sense in place. Ever read the book, "The Death of Common Sense" where they justifiably lambast some truly STOOOOBIDDDD building and fire code prescriptions? Let the pendulum swing to not quite the other extreme, but to the other side of equilibrium, and you have the design culture here, in my opinion. tort and lawsuits are good. they clean out negligent designers. if you don´t have tort, and you don´t have enough fire history, unfortunately bad designs won´t be found out until 50 years later, if then. scot deal excelsior fire On 2/21/08, John Drucker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > Which lends the question, should the building code allow unprotected > construction in unsprinklered buildings ? > > _______________________________________________ Sprinklerforum mailing list [email protected] http://lists.firesprinkler.org/mailman/listinfo/sprinklerforum To Unsubscribe, send an email to:[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Put the word unsubscribe in the subject field)
