The type of system that is designed for a residence such as 13D is not to
protect property as everyone knows, so why would an insurance company be
impressed? Without the need for sprinkler systems I wouldn't have a job, but
as a home owner I find that it puts an economic burden on the home buyer,
especially those young first time buyers. A contractor can also use this as
a way to increase profits by jacking up the actual cost of a system.
Besides, the majority of people don't even replace the batteries in the
smoke detectors let alone maintain a sprinkler system! When it comes a time
to do some interior renovations those "unsightly" sprinklers will more than
likely get a fresh coat of paint.
