I think that you should have two check valves - one each on the sprinkler and
standpipe risers, and four control vavles - one each for the risers and one
each for standpipe sectional valves.

Basically what we do is run a sprinkler main on the first floor and a main
on the second floor(Loop these).  then a bunch of small risers up through
the walls to pick up the heads on the third floor.
So we arent feeding the sprinklers from the standpipe.  I was trying
to figure out if i need a control and check. on the riser(for the whole
system),  another one on the main to the standpipe, and another one on the
main feeding the sprinkler system.
What do you guys think?
Thanks for your help fellas.
