If all it runs is non-medical equipment, and it is properly labeled (every
5'-0") so in the future it will not mistakenly be used for medical equip. I
see no problem. This would not need to meet medical gas requirements, but
still there may be Jahoe or other state medical facilities requirements that
it must meet.
Like: "All non-medical compressed air pipe must be painted blue" or "All
non-medical compressed air shall be labeled ever 2 feet with lettering a
minimum of 1/2" HIGH "NON-MEDICAL COMPRESSED AIR, NOT FOR CONNECTION TO
MEDICAL EQUIPMENT"

Just be careful.

Subject: RE: Compressed Air Piping

Really? Do medical levels apply to a dry system central air system?
I suppose I can see as it might but a separate system? They have hospital
grade medical air/vac/etc.
This is the building I wrote about months ago with the 22 dry valves and 16
riser-mounted compressors.
I bought an 8 HP gas driven air compressor to help with the valves and we
kept setting off the co sensors. :P I was thinking a house system might be
the way to go, we wouldn't be running though any medical floors.

Tom:

Check NFPA 99 4-3.1.1.9 medical air comp supply systems, and table 4-3.1.2.4
and table 4-3.1.2.7 as well as the medical facility people JACHO and AIA,
look at NFPA 99C Level three comp gas system, and don't forget oil free, and
filter and receiver requirements.

PS your liability insurance may not cover this type of work.
