If it worries you, you could always have a good machine fab shop roll you a
nice long eccentric reducer from some sch 40, and weld that up with some
weld flanges. That way you make the transition as long as you have room for,
or the money to spend. But if money is no problem, get a bigger pump, so the
reduction is less!
