A high rise office building is protected by AS all throughout, except for electrical substations and communication rooms. A debate among several inspectors about the extension of the sprinkler head protection to the 2-hour enclosed stairways and 2-hour shaft enclosure, your valuable insight regarding this issue is highly appreciated. The governing standards are IBC, 2006 and NFPA 13.
