In comparing 13D to 13R (2002),13R allows the elimination of sprinklers in the
elevator machine room and shaft (6.8.5).13D does not address these areas at
all.While the equipment/storage room needs protecting,maybe the shaft does
not.Maybe the committee didn't include elevators as an issue because most
1 & 2 family dwellings or manufactured homes are not equipped with one.JMHO
