I've found when I get together with sprinkler friends from the Forum, which happens pretty frequently, the discussion isn't unlike the banter on this forum. It's just how we express ourselves. I couldn't go a day without some satire. So the way the discussions go on the Forum is just as when we are talking in person. SFPE Journal is nice dry reading material, even in metric for extra credit conversion while reading it. But I'm afraid after about 15 years of discussion, enlightenment, humor, making friends and finding the roots of a peer group, I doubt its going to change and should be considered the cost of enlightenment. I'm sure there are Ivy League scholars that just can't read ee cummings because of the blatant errors. Their loss. And that Hemingway guy- hopeless. Take the jokesters off the Forum and there wouldn't be much left except the folks that don't know how to unsubscribe.
