Kevin, Maybe you are new to this forum? Not sure. This group goes back at
least 10 years. There are many friendships here that have developed. Some
of these guys get together occasionally and they met originally through this
forum. Yes it's professional first but we often slip out of that
character. I have never met anyone on this forum but consider them more
than just some abstract distant peer. They are friends.

So if you are new please stick around and understand it's mostly true
professionalism with a bit of sitting around the campfire B.S.'ing with
friends. Ron is a frequent valued contributor and his colorful and accurate
metaphor wasn't meant to be unprofessional. To be honest I'd rather have
the B.S.ing and information exchange than a perfect bunch of professionals
that can often speak and say nothing repeatedly over and over again.

I would respectfully request that Mr. Greenman and others keep their
responses and comments professional and to the point. Talking about
"pissing on the fire" hardly evokes sence of professionalism. Sometimes the
traffic on this forum is not what I would expect from a group of
professionals and errodes my confidence in turning to it as a source of
technical information and advise.

Somehow he must have the idea that if there is a fire under the platform
that it's better to wait until it releases enough heat to fuse the ceiling
heads that are shielded by the platform. My preference would be to start
pissing on the fire as soon as possible.
Uses less piss and burns up less stuff. So yes, he has backwards thinking.
Everything about the codes seems to (typically 'cause there's always
exceptions) direct the designer to get the water on the fire as fast as
possible. Why would you not want to do that?
