You need to tread carefully on this one. 2006 IBC 1020.1.2 states
"Penetrations into and OPENINGS THROUGH ...". Peel back to 1020.1 which
states "Interior exit stairways and interior exit ramps shall be
enclosed with fire barriers constructed in accordance with Section 706".
Peel back to 706.6 which states "Openings in a fire barrier shall be
protected in accordance with Section 715". 715 protects openings with
opening protectives - fire doors, shutters, or fire-rated glazing. Tough
running and protecting sprinkler piping through those. (Oh, and openings
are not allowed in fire-rated glazing unless tested and listed, just in
case...)

Bottom line, in my opinion, sprinkler and standpipe piping can run into
and out-of the enclosure as many times as required with
through-penetration protection, but, not through.
