AHJs rely on the plans to be accurately labeled.
Good communication using precise code defined labels/terminology avoids many
misunderstandings and associated delays in reviews.

A note on the drawing or cover letter from the architect explaining the
situation is a big help to plan reviewers.
Plan reviewers are not all local and aware of the project before they get the
plans.
The majority of projects coming through our state level office for a sprinkler
system shop drawing review hit us "cold" with no prior knowledge of anything
outside the contents of the submittal.
We usually have not even seen the building plans so shop drawings must note
such things as why an area is missing sprinklers [non-combustible canopy with
no storage of combustibles underneath, non-combustible stairway, etc.].

Subject: RE: Aircraft Hanger

I can do better that this one. We're working on a local community college
campus, expanding the Aviation Sciences building. It's an old Type V, block
walls and bowstring trusses with a curved roof, about 22' high at the peak. It
currently houses two dry airplanes and a dry helicopter. And I mean dry as in
no lube, nothing. The expansion has the aircraft moving outside under new
non-combustible canopies and the big room being converted to a teaching shop
with work benches. They've always referred to the big room as "The Hangar" so
the architect showed it on the plans as such. The AHJ (State of
Californicate) takes a look at the preliminary design submittal and says,
"Hangar? Well then you better build it per NFPA 409!" And so we're going to
set a meeting where we can hit the plans reviewer over the head with a 24"
until he comes around ... This is the Major Leagues of consulting: "Uh, Mr.
Architect? Could you change the word "hangar" to "shop" on the plans please?"

Did you try, "409 exists because hangers are not warehouses, but more
like special garages some with repair facilities?" Of course Boeing
has their planes in high piled arrays so that when an you want ten or
twenty 7XX's they just pull them off the rack, dump them in cardboard
boxes full of packing peanuts and ship them UPS ground straight to
your door.
