They don't use bleach, it's a host of other sanitizing chemicals. Everything in the area is stainless so it looks like the FP piping system and components will be stainless as well. Craig L. Could you wrap the pipe in tee-shirts? Seriously, what do they use to convey the bleach to the wash-down nozzles, and what are the nozzles made of? -----Original Message----- From: Doug Hicks [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, November 17, 2010 2:08 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: Specialty piping? The wash down procedure they are speaking of is Bleach, ranging from 3% to 12.5%. That stuff will eat stainless sheet metal, black pipe, galvanized pipe (not as fast as black) and I expect copper. We have had limited success using a spray on galvanized coating from the NAPA parts house. The very limited work we have done in food plants did not include stainless pipe. -------------------------------------------------- From: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, November 16, 2010 10:36 AM To: <[email protected]> Subject: Specialty piping? > Got a food mfgr facility.
