Two point to be made. This section is limited to just the 3 methods
as part of methodologies for just spray sprinklers. As such it's past
the time that this section should be deleted. I say this because a
more comprehensive statement is in 11.1.1. If you go there, you'll
notice it says "A building OR PORTION THEREOF" can use any applicable
design basis. As such, mentally add to 11.2.3.1.1 that you can use
only one method within the portion of the building for which it is
being applied. Before someone asks - You can have many design basis
within a single system.
Apply NFPA caveat that this is my option as a technical member and not
that of NFPA.
