T-Mack:

I HIGHLY recommend you directly contact the manufacturer. Some time back,
Sammy's chose not to pursue ICC ESR listing for many of their products and I
think that the Xpress is one of them. This caused them no small measure of
pain with California state agencies such as DSA and OSHPD, as those AHJ's are
looking very specifically for listings that encompass seismically engineered
applications. We can't use express hangers on unreinforced metal decks on
schools and hospitals as a result. I know that the company has corresponded
with DSA senior supervisors in Sacramento and they wrestled with these issues a
couple years ago in a big way. I do not know the current status of their
products in this regard, which is why I suggest to call them directly and ask
very specifically what the status might be, including range of applications for
which they have documented listings and approvals.

Steve

Subject: SAMMY XPRESS

Can Sammy Xpress hangers be used in seismic areas? I can't find
anything that says yes or no on the Sammy site.
