All, My company is bidding a project that states in the specs to re-use the old sprinkler piping. The building is existing with a drop ceiling. The plan is to demo the ceiling and all above ceiling MEP. New sprinklers are to be installed at the deck (no ceiling). Existing ceiling is about 11'-0" deck is about 24'-0" so sprigs not a good option. Old pipe would have to be removed and then reinstalled. Also wall configuration is changing so head layout would have to revised and would have to be re-cut to work.
I thought this was prohibited but I can't find it in NFPA 13. At any rate is just seems wrong. Any help or suggestions.
