When duct is blowing conditioned air it is common to see discoloration on the
head, and a brown stain on the floor below about the diameter of a softball.
Does UL's investigation of heads include corrosion of head when it is damp?

There is a fitting for ductwork to deal with the issue when pipes pass
through the ductwork. Looks like a teardrop constructed of sheetmetal and
is provided to stop issues such as the whistling. Also, sealing the
ductwork openings is a necessity.
