That's a good question.  Some say yes despite having a diameter smaller than 1" 
because they are a fitting.  Our position has been that they are ok for 
retrofits but if a new job and one cut the drop too short, cut a new drop.  I 
believe there is a Public Input on these since some are combining 2 or 3 
extensions. We'll see.
