Steve
I have not seen anyone throw out a price. This stuff is expensive!!!
Even in Florida we have to deal with freezing. We start at 10K minimum when
considering heat tracing.
Hopefully one day we will have a non-combustible liquid that doesn't freeze.

Check around. Tyco/Raychem has 10 year warranty. I'd imagine they actually
expect it to last much longer so as not to incur costs if it really only last
ten years. This is also based on running 24/7 for 10 years. So even here this
stuff should last 20 years only running 6 months a year. When the rep was in
last week he agreed older vintage didn't last as long. I've used it twice
(mains only) and we ran two wires, one spare so it would be 2 screws
should/when the first ever fail.

Steve,

There is only a ten year life expectancy for the heat tracing, so that should
be a long-term consideration for the owner.

Help a warm weather brother out please, with recommendations for heat
trace systems. Price, reliability, branch line listings?
