Thanks for responding. The sidewalls are going to spray on the side of the 
ducts (14" to 18" round) and will obstruct the discharge. It is kind of an 
unknown how much the obstruction will be and if a pendent under the duct will 
cover all of the area. My plan is to put the pendent 1-2" away from the 
horizontal center of the duct so that any dripping from the water on the duct 
will not go on the head. 

This is unfortunately one of those situations where my solution to the problem 
was rejected by a pig-headed architect and we have to go with this as an 
alternative.
