The reason for requiring QR is that we intend to protect a ceiling with 14
inch pockets. So we follow 8.6.7.2.(6) NFPA 13 ed 2013 that requires QR, and
the exception for sprinklers in each pocket.

I got the reply from Tyco, the SW 20 and SW 24 are only available in
standard response.

That or…

8.3.3.2 “Where quick response sprinklers are installed, ALL sprinkler within
a compartment shall be quick response.”

I doubt its for QR reduction if it’s a pocket ceiling? Don’t know what kind
of pockets but probably have unprotected pockets greater the 32 sq ft. I’m
just guessing.

I have no idea about a EC QR OHII HSW, the closest thing I can find is TYCO
EC-HS-8.0 and it says installation per VdS CEA 4001, Annex E, LH/OHI.
Nothing about OHII.
