Site class still doesn't tell much. You need the seismic design category. But as far as I know, there is nothing about a risk category that increases seismic requirements. It is set by the Seismic design category and then calculations for your bracing loads.

The site is Class C,

This project is in So. California, EQ bracing is always required. I just wanted to know is there is anything special about Risk Category IV.

What’s the Seismic Design Category assigned by the Structural engineer for the project? A,B,C,D,E?

The Fire Protection Engineer should have clarified whether or not EQ bracing was required based on the above category which was determined by the structural EOR if it was done right or done at all.

I have a building being classified as an essential facility. I’m told that the building must be operation after an earthquake, whether or not that includes the sprinkler system, I will need to get RFI’d. But my question is would there be any special requirements for the hanging and bracing of the sprinkler system due this classification?
