Not personally but I know we put a lot of them in. More generally, for the higher application (40' ceiling) the difference is not as big since the UL listing pressure is lower, it's still about 150 gpm more. With most of the designs we do today the hose stream is rarely a big issue because of how flat pump curves are with many of the newer models and it rarely flows though anything other than 10-12" underground loops.. As far as the FM criteria, that's between you and your contract holder and you and the AHJ. If your project is a design build you should be able to employ any technology/design that results in an "approved" system. If the head was spec'd without design parameters you may want to RFI to CYA. As for AHJ approval, for example here in Indiana state virtually always accepts FM designs as new/alternative technology.

Has anyone used this k25 storage sprinkler? It has listing for both UL and FM. UL lists it as a CMSA sprinkler whereas FM listing is for standard coverage resulting in the UL design requirements being more stringent. Example, UL requires 15 sprinkler design with 500 gpm hose allowance. FM requires 12 sprinkler design with 250 hose allowance. My question is, can the design comply with FM and not UL, even though the contract specifications doesn't require FM compliance?
