Here is my situation: Hotel Rooms that have a 3'-6" x 2'-6" Non-Combustible Concealed space that has a heat pump unit inside this space. There is not a door into this space only a discharge grill that can be removed by the maintenance staff to get access to service these units.
The local AHJ says that I have to install a sprinkler head to protect this space. The way I interpret NFPA-13 2013 paragraph 8.15.1.2 and 8.15.1.2.2 it does not require a sprinkler head in this space.
