Bobby,
I have to admit I'm sort of baffled here.
If I read this correctly, the discharge flow and pressure from the
_*existing*_ fire pump will not supply sufficient flow and pressure to
the base of the new riser, as required by the K16.8 ESFR sprinklers.
So your thinking is to provide tap the water supply line upstream of the
existing fire pump, and direct a new service independent of the pump
which will supply the riser for the new ESFR's.
What troubles me is that if the supply through the pump is inadequate,
how would the supply _*without*_ a fire pump be able to achieve the
required flow/pressure at the base of the riser.
Can you expand on this for me please?
sincerely,
