If they did a calculation on the existing system with the 1/2” sprinklers and 
achieved that density, I do not believe they have to upgrade anything. I think 
the 0.2 restriction is for new or upgraded systems only.   
  

  
The other consideration is that the placard could be total BS. Someone just put 
it up there to satisfy a recommendation. I ran into this in a location in MA 
where the placard said it could provide some big density. I had to recalculate 
it because they were adding some racks and the original calc was off by about
