Hi,
The win 7 issues (Spyder does not start or errors in the internal Spyder console) have to do with acess to c: documents and settings. I fond that it is not possible to access c:\documents and settings in Win7 even with administrator rights.

Why is this directory needed ?
What part of Pythonxy uses this directory ?

Is it possible to avoid the usage of this directory ?
or
use a directory in the format of c:\Users\Arthur ?

Are there more win 7 - 64 bit users having this problem ?

Thanks very much.

Arthur

Hi,

As of today, there is no 64bits version of Python(x,y).

AFAIK, the 32bits version works the same way on Windows 7 64bits or

32bits.

Anyway, the answer to your question should simply be the following:

Spyder being pure Python, it has nothing to do with the processor

architecture (32 or 64bits).
