The iPython console seems to be again the active tab by default on startup (though I didn't check, so I don't know if this was fixed and re-emerged since the original report, or if the fix never made it in).
On a similar note, is the idea to continue to use https://code.google.com/p/spyderlib/issues/list for issues, even though the main repository has moved to bitbucket?
