Hi,
I changed our default options so that the IPython console appears by
default at startup in the last beta (i.e. beta4) but once you deactivate
the option to do that in
Preferences > IPython > Startup
then it won't appear again and the selected console will be the Python one.
About issues: please continue to report them in GoogleCode. They are
deactivated in BitBucket for now (until I find some free time to see if
it's worth to do the migration).

I'm looking for any solution which I can do temporarily in my
custom installer. Of course I would recommend this for the
overall default, but that's secondary.
I'm working with 88f93ae (current tip) and running dist utils
to make the installer.
