I've nearly finished another laytex pdf template, and I've run into my
old issue that I can't get it to properly break the page. This time I've
noticed its the notes field that's causing me grief. The template
apparently has no code to compensate for unusually long notes. And
that's the reason why I am getting odd page breaks. It might be treating
the notes field as a single unbreakable block?

I have included examples of what happens with short, medium and long
notes fields. I like how the template behaves with short notes fields,
but.... its misbehaving with medium and long notes fields. I have also
included my template.

The headings at the top of the template are relatively unchanged. The
letterpage package has had the margins changed a little bit.

Once I get the page break to work properly. I will need to ensure that
my last 5 lines of code which print "WORK ORDER","00001","please double
check...." always print at the bottom of the page, or maybe the footer.
But I have never gotten that to work successfully.

If anyone has any ideas on what I might be missing I would really
appreciate it. At best I'm a hack laytexer :-)

When you have big differences in the lenghts of the texts, conditional fields and so on, SQL-Ledger will never be able to detect the page break properly. To a "hackTeXer", I'd suggest to try something with ltxtable.
