Outstanding! it is kudos which is so richly deserved, and IMHO, an example of REAL integrity earned. Over the years I have watched as SQLite developed, learned much from this list, and was impressed by Dr Hipps hands-on leadership in directing development in what he and the team deemed an appropriate direction. Many contentious issues have been raised over the years but they have been consistently handled with a core ethic in mind. Make it better, more efficient, scalable and usable on multiple platforms.
It is not often that you truly see such a development process remain true to it's founding principles, we humans have a powerful capability to corrupt and in IT we tend to excel at that. In SQLite we have a shining example of what can be achieved when a development process is well handled, and it is sadly all to rare. So well done to all involved in developing a truly great system and to all on this list who have made so many good recommendations and offered their seasoned technical opinions so openly and in collaborative spirit. It is a genuine open source triumph of which you should all be proud. Thanks.
