You can always do a rescan for the playlists only that doesnt need that much. Unless your mediafiles stored to a NAS or you have a HUGE library - feel free to check 7.9 to shorten the amount of hours to do a rescan. That means - 7.9 is good and scans faster than 7.8.1.
