The problem is I have the LMS 7.9 installation buried way down in the
file system; I had it running in parallel with 7.8 for awhile, etc. In
any case, I prefer to just lay down the files vs. using any kind of
package if I can. That's the way I've always upgraded in the past; I
just can't remember what (if anything) I need to protect/move aside
prior to untarring. That said, is there anything the package does that
I should be aware of? I'll admit I'm not an expert in dpkg and if I can
specify the installation directory then that method may work just
fine...

Thanks!
