Here's a quick follow up to my skipping issue with Duet Receiver. The "bargain" mother board I picked up turned out to be so old it would only support 2 gig of ram rather than the 4 gig my other board would handle. It also wouldn't recognize my video card so I was without video. So, out with the new and back in with the old. I ordered a cheap ethernet card to use in it to replace the built in ethernet on the board. I did try it without the new card while waiting for it to be delivered and it still skipped. I installed the new card and everything now works perfect.
I can only guess that the built in ethernet on the board was dropping packets which the receiver couldn't tolerate with its small buffer while the Touch with its larger buffer was able to cruise through it. Anyway, the problem has been resolved and I'm happily listening to music on both systems now. Thanks to everyone for the help and great suggestions! I really appreciate it!
