Leave the cable modem in routed mode but switch off its wifi
Access the Asus - plug in to it directly - and turn off its DHCP server.
Give it a fixed IP of 192.168.100.2.
Reboot the Asus and plug it into the cable router.
Now the Wifi should be in the Asus but all the IP addresses come from
the cable modem in the 192.168.100.x range. Nothing has changed so far
as the SBs and LMS are concerned except the wifi.
Good luck
